Let me love you one day at a time...
and please love me the very same say. May we never learn all there is to know about love, but every day together will teach us a little more about ourselves and the special kind of happiness we can bring to each other. One of the best things you've helped me learn is that love starts with being honest, speaking straight from how we really feel. I like how we've opened doors and windows of our lives, and invited each other to come in, look around, and get acquainted. The more I'm with you, the more at home I feel.
Let me love you one day at a time...
Why talk about "always" and say things we're not sure we mean when we can talk about today and mean exactly what we say. Let's think of each sunrise as a fresh start, a brand new beginning... and try to fill each day with as much love as it can hold. I know you're not always going to be exactly the same person Sunday through Saturday, January through December, and neither am I. We both need laughing times and crying times... and time for every mood in between. The important thing is that you can be the kind of you that feels most natural and that I can be my most favorite kind of me. That's what makes us so comfortable together...It's also what keeps us from taking too much for granted.
Let me love you one day at a time...
Let's not wonder how long love will last but how beautiful we can make it grow. Let's give our best to each other, but let's never expect miracles of our love. There's no need to...The reality of you and me is better than all the impossible dreams and fantasies I've ever imagined. Being with you is feeling proud, blessed, grateful for each hour we share.
Let me love you one day at a time...
not according to any How-To book, or by someone else's set of rules... but simply for who you are and how you are with me. And please love me, not for what I might be molded into, but for what I am here and now. Don't expect me to be someone all good and all giving, someone who could never disappoint you... someone too right to be real and too perfect to be me. I'm just as human as anyone I know... and very thankful that you are, too. Let's try to remember that love means keeping in touch with each other's thoughts and feelings... listening not just to words, but to the emotions behind them... seeing, not just the smiles and frowns but the hurt and pleasures that cause them.
Let me love you one day at a time...starting today. Let's have the courage to try to change whatever needs changing about us, and wisdom to know what should never be changed. Believing in ourselves and in our ability to handle whatever tomorrow brings... and trusting that this love we share will continue to grow stronger as the future years unfold... One Beautiful Day at a Time.

The only thing I feel around me is the feeling of being forlorn and it isn’t really something I like to feel. Today I learned that I was born alone and will live my life alone. I had a nice shower after trying out my home made wax. I again prefer to state here that it’s rather easier to stick to shaving. The guys had gone for their boys night get together and I thought it would be nice to spend some time with my girlfriends. I went over to Hilda and Linda’s room and sadly they weren’t really free. Hilda was with someone and Linda was out. Then I decided to get to a nearby room and I heard a girl’s voice o why bother him. I went over to many peoples room but everyone was spending their time with their special someone. I thought it would be good if I come home and spend my evening with the cat and I guess even he had someone else in mind. Sad I know, but that’s simply my life. I decided to pray, but then I had to stop because I knew I was getting no where. At this moment I miss home, miss home so very much. If only I was at home, my mom would at least be there for me. My dad would have been there to share his shoulders and so were my sisters. I miss Bianca there and hate her for not being there for me. I miss kippu for trying to be a Romanian and not at least replying my letters. I miss ashu for moving to Delhi and have no net service. I miss all of them and wish they were really near by to be here when I needed someone to really talk to right now. I was just wasting my phone credit on sms which wasn’t for the right person I think. I dint get any reply even from home. Guess every one was busy. I logged on line and it made me feel even worst. From 239 mails I had only one made sense. A mail from a very close friend that made me smile because he calls me K, made me wonder if that was my real name for a while. I used my table as my tabla and played along many songs to pass the evening. I had time to think about who was I once. I used to sing and play the tabla and that too without any teacher helping me out. I picked it up from a school cultural show and I had a friend who plays it really well so I decided to learn from him. I learned the veena too and was rather good. And now I am sitting here in Russia without any practice, without any hobby, without any interest except passing my exams. Call it PMS, but I doubt it. I found a grey hair today and that even made me sicker. I guess I should just call it a day. And yes, Neel, I do miss you too. Thanks for being such a wonderful friend.

Not enough coconuts for Thaipusam

PENANG: Hindus wishing to break coconuts in conjunction with Thaipusam on Feb 11 may not be able to do it so lavishly this time around. It is learnt that the coconut harvest last month was poor due to the rainy season. Coconut wholesaler M. Joel Jeyachandran said the coconut supply from a plantation in Bagan Datoh, Perak, would be insufficient to meet demand during Thaipusam. “Now I only have about 5,000 coconuts at my shop and they are not enough to meet orders,” he said, adding that he sold about 100,000 coconuts during Thaipusam last year. He said the supply of coconuts had shrunk about 50% due to the high demand for the back-to-back Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Deepavali celebrations in November. Due to the poor harvest, some coconut traders in Penang had increased the price to RM1.40 a fruit, from 80 sen a few days ago. However, Joel Jeyachandran is still selling the coconuts at 70 sen each for fear of driving away his regular customers. “I have no intention to increase the price, which has remained for the past four years, due to competition among wholesalers, especially those in Seberang Prai,” he said. However for this Thaipusam, Joel Jeyachandran is planning to increase the price by 10 sen. “It still depends on the supply from the plantation,” he said. A. Anbarasan, 51, a wholesaler at Lorong Abu Siti here, said he estimated sales at about 20,000 coconuts for this Thaipusam, against 40,000 last year.

UK policy to reduce skills drain from Africa is ineffective
London Zosia Kmietowicz
The UK government’s policy of banning healthcare staff who are actively recruited from the world’s poorest countries from working in the NHS is unlikely to help achieve the goal of boosting the number of doctors and nurses in the developing world, says a development specialist.
Dr Lola Banjoko, chairwoman of the Africa-wide recruitment and employment agency Africa Recruit, believes that the code of practice, which aims to restrict recruitment of healthcare professionals from 150 developing countries is well meaning. But she says that the policy cannot work in isolation. “Trying to stop people from moving from one country to another for work is not practically workable and is an infringement of people’s human rights,” said Dr Banjoko. Africa Recruit aims to boost professional capacity throughout the continent.
Dr Banjoko called for an international strategy to tackle the drain of skills from developing countries.

ChuckBy Gerard T. Brooker, Ed.D.

Chuck was in my high-school English honors class. He was a writer of great promise. So, when he told me he had been accepted into the journalism program at the University of Missouri, I wasn't surprised. During his freshman year at college, Chuck stopped by school a few times to keep me posted on his progress. We reminisced about our work together several years before. We had developed public service radio commercials to raise money for twenty-three sick and abandoned Cambodian babies who were being cared for by a nurse friend of mine in Thailand, a place far away yet close to our hearts. Chuck was instrumental by helping to raise several thousand dollars. It was an activity that in some ways transformed our formal relationship into a friendship. Whenever we got together on his visits, my spirits were always buoyed as he was filled with the joy of life. In his sophomore year, it was discovered Chuck had lung cancer and had only a short while to live. So he left school to come home to be near his loved ones. I went to see him one day, and in that mysterious way that some seriously ill people have, he reached into a deep place of his rich humanity and made us laugh for most of the afternoon. As I left him and hugged him good-bye, I felt confused and angry. There seemed to be no sense in what was happening. About six weeks later, Chuck died. It was a great loss for everyone, especially for his family. The youngest of nine children, Chuck was talented and full of promise. More importantly, he was a good and decent person, a just man. When I went to his funeral, his father asked to speak with me. He took me aside and told me that several weeks before, Chuck had asked him to go over his possessions and memorabilia with him so that he might select a few things to be buried in the coffin with him. He told me how bittersweet the assignment was. How his heart, the heart of a father, nearly burst with love and sadness. In the end, Chuck chose six items, including an essay he had written in my class some years before. He told me that Chuck had always kept the piece because he liked the message I had written to him at the bottom of the last page. In that little note, I affirmed his talent as a writer and I urged him to be responsible for the gift, to be committed to it as something special. That encouraging postscript would now go with Chuck across the great divide. I was touched and grateful for the extraordinary gift Chuck gave me that day. His wonderful gesture gave the teacher in me a vital insight, one that would change my life. His taking my reassuring note with him into eternity offered me a tremendous opportunity for impacting students' lives. I felt reenergized with a sense of purpose that was greater than ever. Whenever I forget my purpose, I think of Chuck, and I am reminded of it once again: Teachers have the power to affect hearts and minds for a long time. Some would even say for eternity.

7 DONt'S AFTER A MEAL------------------------------------------- * Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher). *Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before * Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest* Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked. * Don't bathe! - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach. { and sum POT's make a big fuss over this matter ;) } * Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake. * Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

Right its time for me to update my blog and yes yes to fill you people up with some luscious secrets and hot stories of my well, what can I say my astonishing life. Ok, lets make it look this way, I don’t have anything much to say. I have been in some sort of quandary as in such, why does it hurt so much when someone you love so very much just refuses to at least make an attempt to converse a little sweeter to you each day. Well, ok I don’t really want to clutter your head up. On the whole, I was under par since Monday, got my asthma attack thanks to myself for not listening to advice. I drenched myself after doing my laundry and washed the toilet. Well, this is when you actually would love to get down to your unsurpassed shoes and swear why the hell first hostel toilet is so $%^& large! I missed my path anat class but that was simple to cover up.

I logged on IRC today, just in the matter of keeping my channel breathing. The irony of it is just that, why keep a dead channel alive. Ok, let me make it look a little enhanced. I logged in to keep my ops. Yeah, better. Well, my sweetest friend was there good to see him, and I sort of got goaded seeing him flirt with his babe. For the past month, anyone who flirts in front of me, who tries their lovey dovey stuffs in front of me, seems to annoy me. Right, I'm not green-eyed, for sure, maybe I’m just hurt deep down but then again, it’s my quandary.

It’s good to sit feeling tenable in my own room. The past week had brought me and my roommate a little closer than we were before. It was fairly effortless to open up to her stuffs that I couldn’t untie to my closest aka best friend Raj. It felt a little lighter and kind of relieving. The past week also brought my colleagues closer. It’s for the good of everyone I should say.

Well, my ogle lids are piercing and my bed is singing a lullaby. Before I retire on the space where I am situated in, my desk, its better for me to crawl or maybe drag myself to bed. So, good nigh people and see you soon.

Petition to Prime Minister ~ Phase IIDear Animal Lovers and Advocates,As you may be aware, the SPCA started a petition to the prime minster to raise the cruelty fine from RM200 to a significantly higher fine of around RM10,000.00. The petition, which included the signatures of supporters, was supposed to be handed to the prime minister in October 2004. However, this has not happened, as we only managed to raise 20,000 signatures. Due to the insufficient number of signatures collected during the first phase of this petition, the SPCA is entering a second phase in hope to collect at least 100,000 signatures locally and internationally. Therefore, we are now entering a phase II stage of the petition whereby we would like you to join our effort for this cause. Please download the petition forms. Kindly photocopy it and distribute it for signatures to be collected. The more names we have, the better. Please ensure that those who have already signed the form during the first phase of the petition do not sign the petition again. All forms should be signed, signatures counted and returned to the SPCA by September 2006.We need your every support as we try our best to stop these cruel acts and t punish those who do injustice to these helpless animals. Let us work together to bring justice to these voiceless animals. On behalf of the animals, thank you very much for your support

Dead man' comes to lifeINUPAMULA (NALGONDA DT):

An octogenarian, who was to be cremated in acouple of hours, `comes back to life and claims that he had been sentback to earth from Yamapuri following the orders of Yamadharmaraja, theking of the hell.'"He (Yama) was sporting a large moustache with curly ends but had a baldhead. He rebuked the two soldiers, who mistakenly took me to hell. Theydropped me at my home by a magic scooter,'' Malla Reddy, the old man, told The Hindu on Thursday.According to Kamalamma, Mr. Reddy's wife, she found him in comatose inthe early hours of July 8. A couple of villagers checked his pulse andbreathing and declared him dead. The body was placed on paddy straws and a light was lit at his head aspart of the funeral procedure. Mr. Reddy's two sons were informed of the`demise'of their father and the message was sent to their near and dear. As itwas raining, the cremation got delayed. After 20 hours of his `death,' Mr. Reddy woke up shocking and surprisingthe grieving relatives. Then he narrated how he was taken to hell by twosoldiers clad in knickers and his interaction with Yama. "The hall inwhich he (Yama) sat was full of shelves and long ledgers. He took one ofthe books and pulled up the soldiers for bringing the wrong person. Heordered them to drop me at my home," says Mr. Reddy.Villagers not surprisedVillagers express no doubts over Mr. Reddy's version as he is known forhis honesty. However, Muvva Rama Rao of Jana Vignana Vedika contendsthat elderly persons come back to life after being comatose for eight to10 hours.

There are few things more fearful and panic provoking than finding a lump or a change in your breast. Your immediate thought will probably be of cancer. Everyone reacts differently when this happens to her. Some will call their doctor at once, others might be afraid of confirming their fears and delay making an appointment. It is only normal for you to feel upset and fearful if you find a lump in your breast. But fear will not make the lump disappear. The earlier you find a lump in its development and the smaller it is, the greater the chance it is curable if it is cancer. Not all breast lumps are malignant. Only a doctor can accurately diagnose if a breast lump is benign (not cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Do not try to diagnose it yourself.

BENIGN BREAST LUMPS

Breasts are made up of ducts, lobes, fibrous tissue, and underlying bone; therefore, they can feel lumpy or uneven. Before your menstrual period begins, and sometimes during your period, you can have some tenderness, pain, or lumps in your breasts. This could be due to the extra fluid that collects in the breast tissue (cyst) as well as changes in the body's hormonal levels. This is normal. But if the lumps do not disappear before your next period, contact your doctor as soon as possible.Any noticeable change, thickening or localized swelling in your breast that was not there before may be a lump. Eighty-five percent of all breast lumps found are benign. Some common benign breast problems that appear as lumps are: Cystic Disease (fibrocystic breast disease) is the most common cause of breast lumps in women. These lumps or cysts are fluid-filled sacs that enlarge and become tender and painful before the menstrual cycle. This condition is responsible for at least half of all breast biopsies performed. It tends to involve both breasts. These lumps are movable, and if large may feel round and firm. Cystic disease usually disappears after menopause. Lipomas develop as single, painless lumps. They can vary in size. Lipomas consist of fatty tissue and are commonly found elsewhere in the body. Fibroadenomas, single solid tumors, appear most often in young women. They occur twice as often in African American women as in others. These breast lumps are firm, rubbery, movable, often oval-shaped, and usually painless. Papillomas are small, wart-like growths in the lining of a mammary duct near the nipple. These can produce a bloody discharge of the nipple. Injury to the breast, or trauma, may result in blood accumulation (hematoma) or destruction of fatty tissue (fat necrosis). Both conditions can appear as lumps. Sometimes the skin around these areas appears red or bruised. No evidence exists that traumas can cause breast cancer. There are other, not as common benign breast lumps caused by a variety of breast problems such as sclerosing adenosis, etc.
